Workspace Roles

Not everyone who touches a workspace should be able to change everything in it. Four roles — Owner, Admin, Member, Viewer — keep access matched to responsibility.

How It Works

01

Invite by email

Add someone to a workspace by email; they show as Invited until they accept and become Active.

02

Assign a role

Owner (full control), Admin (manage members and settings), Member (create and edit work), or Viewer (read-only) — pick the level that matches the person.

03

Track every change

A full activity log records who did what, on every project, so access isn't just granted and forgotten.

Why It Matters

A client or stakeholder can get Viewer access without risking accidental edits
Admin responsibilities (managing members, workspace settings) stay separate from Owner-level control
The activity log answers 'who changed this' without asking around
Removing someone's access is immediate — no lingering permissions

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I change someone's role after inviting them?

Yes — a workspace Admin or Owner can update any member's role at any time.

What can a Viewer actually see?

A Viewer can see projects, tasks, and reports, but can't create, edit, or delete anything.

Can a workspace have more than one Owner?

Ownership follows the workspace itself; day-to-day management responsibility is typically handled through the Admin role.
